Centrifugal disc finishing

Centrifugal disc finishing

At Eagle Simrax, we make use of the FKS06 from Rösler which provides high energy centrifugal disc finishing. It is ideal for deburring, surface grinding, edge radiusing, and polishing of various parts, including stampings, castings, forged, or machined components. This technology offers extremely short processing times and a high degree of automation, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from delicate thin spacers (0.2 mm) to heavy gear components (over 150 mm).

The process works by using a rotating spinner (60 – 250 RPM) to generate centrifugal force, which accelerates the component/media mass. This mass is pushed up the stationary wall of the work bowl and then falls back onto the spinner, creating a continuous cycle. The intensity of the process can be adjusted by changing the spinner's speed and the water level in the work bowl, allowing for both gentle polishing and aggressive grinding.

Compared to standard vibratory equipment, centrifugal disc finishing offers a 10 to 30 times higher grinding performance.
